LCHF

Hello ????

Has anyone had any success with low carb high fat? I was going to start tomorrow but was wondering on how it works? is the weight loss more on low carb? How much weight did you lose per week? How many calories did you eat? How long did it take to lose the weight?

Thanks ????

  • I just hit 20 lbs lost today on low-carb high-fat. That is in 12 weeks, at anywhere from 30-50 carbs a day. I didn't count calories at the start, you lose a lot of water weight the first few weeks. I started counting calories and keeping track of macro's more closely about 3-4 weeks in. I am sedentary right now (seem to get weight stalls if i try excersizing too much, probably due to muscle/water retention). I also use 16/8 IF a few days a week as well.

I could have probably gone faster if I had kept carbs below 20g the whole time. Still have a lot of weight to go. I may switch back over to Ketogenic if I see more stalls. There is a great resource for that at the reddit forums here--> http://www.reddit.com/r/keto

I've lost 20lbs with low-carb (9 weeks) - it's worked for me because I love meat and leafy veg and kicked my sugar habit early in the process. If you go hardcore then the basic protocol is eating under 20grams of carbs a day, concentrating on protein/fat instead, drinking a lot of water and cutting alcohol out. It's a great diet to do in conjunction with weight lifting to keep muscle high although right now that's not possible for me.

I've averaging 2lb a week loss but my calorie intake is less than average (I do not recommend this - I'm doing it because of very specific health/body issues - stick at the 1200 at absolute minimum and increase if you're very active/taller/carrying more weight at the beginning). Calories are way less important than carbs at this stage though - under 20 grams of carbs is what is key.

No offense but over the past two weeks I've seen posts from you eating a very unhealthy 800 calories a day to binging. What ever method you use you need to be consistent sticking to something for just s few days will not get results. You need to be in it for the long term. Jumping from one unsustainable diet to another is a recipe for failure. The successful people on mfp stick with things eat at healthy calorie deficits and don't demonize good.

I suggest looking at the link which you have been given before. There are no quick fixes

This is the truth. There are hundreds of diets that work, if you can stick to them.
