What I'm doing today...

So my mother and father in law just bought a new house. I'm helping them to gut and decorate it. The majority of my day today will be painting, wallpapering, laying new hardwood floor, and replacing cabinets. I checked a calorie burn calculator for two hours of painting (it will be more like 5 (or more)hours of work today, but I wanted a lower estimate than it would actually be), and it said I would burn 1,018. I know that those are really just estimates and I can't know exact calories unless I wear a heartrate monitor, but does that sound pretty accurate? Should I put in more than that, or just stick with 1,018? Because if I stick with that, I will only have eaten 500 net calories, and we all know that that isn't enough. But if I actually am going to burn like, 2,000 calories, I want to know now so that I don't go into the negative and pass out or feel fatigued or something without feeling guilty for eating so much. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I would base it on how you FEEL during this time.

I know when I am working harder and when my heart rate is higher. If you feel like you were really working hard - sweating, etc. than go a little higher. but if you are just working at a normal pace and you don't feel like you just finished a spin class, go lower... just be honest and you will be fine.

When did you change your screen name?

I changed it after someone posted that there was a creep on here Friday night. I'm really paranoid about stuff like that. I am home alone with the baby a lot (my husband works during the day and usually has gigs or practice at night) so I get kind of worried about people knowing my name, etc. Not that you guys would EVER do anything to hurt me, but there are some creeps out there.

Wanna know what it means???

    That was my next question!

and, you are right, we would NEVER do anything to hurt you - this is a safe place when those creeps leave us alone.

Well, someday when we have a baby girl (and we will have one, probably adopted because I think I'm done with the whole pregnancy thing), we're going to name her Loki Fae Grace.

Loki is the Norse god of mischief and mayhem and destruction. Fae is just a really cute name, and my husband picked Grace.

I got to pick our girl's name because my husband picked our son's name. I thought it would be cute to have a sweet little girl named after such a powerful crazy god. I know, that sounds a little...weird. It sounds weirder now that I've typed it. :blushing: :blushing: :blushing:

Oh well. I've already made up my mind, and now I'm set on it.

I think it is beautiful!  don't be shy about it! IMHO, there are so many girls with common names (I am guilty of it) - she will be unique, special and always have a great story to tell people from which they will learn something from her. How special is that!?!??!

If I could do it over again, my boys would have completely different names! I have such a strong last name tho, so I had trouble finding anything that worked well....and I didn't want them to struggle their whole lives with spelling their first AND last names to everybody!
