I was on MFP just under a year ago, but I didn't put it to good use and during the course of 2010 have actually gained nearly a stone. No reflection on MFP, just a few lifestyle changes as well as me being increasingly lazy!
My basic goal is to lose 7-10lbs by Christmas (5 weeks) so I can look better in my little black dress. Anyone else doing a similar thing? Or just want to virtually diet/exercise alongside me? I think what I am lacking is support and motivation!

My next goal is 10lbs because when I do I will FINALLY be under 200lbs! But I'm really not setting Christmas as my marker necessarily. So what exactly are you doing to lose weight? I am not following the calorie counting method. I am restricting carbs and it works for me. I have lost 10 lbs in the last 4 wks since I stopped counting calories and cut out sugar/bread/high carb veggies. I've lost 39 lbs total since beginning tracking on here.0

Good to have some company
I gained weight in the first place due to eating/drinking too much of the following on a regular basis- crisps, alcohol, cheese, chocolate, takeaways and stodgy, convenient evening meals. I also tend to pick loads after 5pm, it's like as soon as it nears dinner time I want an aperitivo- namely a bellini and some salty snacks.
And so I am trying to cut down dramatically on the above, filling up on vegetables, eating more salads, nuts and fruits for snacks, like Lorettabc I'm also eating less starchy carbs and ensuring I get my protein. I am also taking a multivitamin and apple cider vinegar to supplement my diet and deal with water retention (which I have because I have been eating too many salty things!).
I too am not paying too much attention to calories because firstly I'm running and secondly I am the sort of person who needs fuel. I have tried restricting calories in the past and I just ended up going crazy, and completely undoing all my work by bingeing! I'm just trying to get my calories mostly from food that is healthy/full of fibre/easily burnt off, much like the new weightwatchers pro points plan (except I'm not following it!).
As for exercise, I have not paid for a gym membership this month, I am running instead with the hope of doing a half marathon next year (we shall see!), doing toning exercises at home and also doing Tracey Anderson's mat workout DVD 4-6 times a week in the hope that I can get long, lean limbs!
What's everyone else doing?0
