Can you plateau after just losing 11 lb? I have 96 lb to go and this week nothing is happening... :(

P.s. I'm getting so disheartened I'm thinking about doing a fast for two days.

i dont think fasting helps. because then when you eat again your body probably wants to hold on to everything.

i hit about 4-5 plateaus just to lose 49lbs. id say im on a plateau right now trying to lose the last 10lbs!
  • I don't necessarily rely on the scale to tell me how I am doing. My scale not only tells me my weight, but it also tells me how many pounds of fat I have, what my fat percentage is, bone mass, water percentage and BMI. I use this information along with measurements (hips, bust, thighs etc.) to tell me how I am really doing. Just because your weight hasn't changed doesn't mean that you are not losing. You could be gaining muscle that is masking the fat loss. Dont lose hope!

I plateau often I would think.

I didn't plateau nearly that soon at the beginning but after I get out of a plateau, sometimes I only lose another 5-10 lbs before plateauing again. 63 lbs gone and 45 more to go.

I would say it probably is possible to plateau that soon, however I don't consider one week of no loss to be a plateau. Give it a couple more weeks before worrying. If you still haven't had a loss then change something up or look at what you may or may not be doing.

Also I noticed often when I had no loss one week, I would have a bigger loss then normal the following week.
