I am a 30yr old woman on my way to losing 60lbs. My big question is - do I need supplements?

Do supplements actually do anything? Is there a fat burner that actually works? Is there something I should be taking?
I read on Facebook and such all about these people who take all of these supplements (pills, powders, shakes) and am just wondering if I am missing something?

Sincerely,
Lost in a calorie counting world

My opinion. No, you do not need weight loss supplements. I think they are completely unnecessary and they can have negative side effects. Yes, I think you should take dietary supplements (e.g., a good quality multi-vitamin and extra vitamin D) as "dieting" can sometimes not provide you with all the vitamins and minerals needed for health. And vitamin D is really important as most women in the US are low in Vitamin D.

A good whey protein powder can also be beneficial. It helps to reach one's protein macros.
