My Doctor prescribed Niaspan for me to control my Triglycerides (sp). I have taken it for a couple years with no real issues. In May, my insurance started to send me the generic equivalent of Niapsan, called Niacin ER. I have taken it for about a month and I have some concerns.
Since taking the generic one, I have noticed I have some "bald spots" in my facial hair. I have also just felt like crap overall, sleeping 9 or so hours a day.
Anyone else have similar issues?

Talk to the pharmacy. Maybe you can get a generic that is manufactured by a different company. Or ask your doctor to convince your insurance company to pay for the brand. This stuff happens with 1) people who are sensitive to the generic, 2) a generic that is crap / not good, 3) take your pick of anything else.
You could talk to your doctor about something else for the triglycerides. Also check with the doctor about dietary changes -- like omega 3 oils.0
