New here :) Need suggestions about caloric intake

Hey there!

So I'm F, 23 yrs, 5'3" and 141 pounds. I tracked calories in a journal over a week and depending on the day I consumed from 1600-2000 cals a day, which has steadily contributed to my weight gain. My BMR is pretty low at 1170 (according to a bodpod test I did last year). I'm debating on how low I should go on my caloric intake to begin. Should I jump straight down to the magic number 1200? Or should I take it more slowly and aim for 1400 first? I also plan to exercise at least 4 days a week (either a 6/7 mile walk around the park, or 60+ mins at the fitness center, jogging/weight training).

Open to ideas and opinions! Thank you!

hello and welcome. I think since you are new and your body is used to that much for the first two weeks you should jump to magic number as you are motivated and you can do it! and it will shock your body into a boost of losing. Then you can up it a bit as a reward?

I would go with the 1400 and exercising 4 to 5 times a week and see what happens. You don't want your body to think its starving and reserve fat. You also can try zigzagging, 1400 one day 1300 the next and see if that helps.
