Guys and BMI charts

My husband and I are the same height. In order for him to be in the normal range according to standard BMI charts he has to weight about as much as I do. That's crazy to me. He's not tall but he's definitely solid bulk and when you look at him "obese" is not the word that comes to mind. At 145-150lbs he would look anorexic.
Is there another BMI chart for guys?
Do guys who lift weights care about BMI or do they go by body fat percentage?
