I love the endorphins for sure!. i love when a song that really pumps me up (could be a different one depending upon my mood), comes on, and makes me want to run faster or jump as I run. I love the feeling of the sweat on my back and my chest as run. I love when I beat my previous run time too. :-)0

the sunrise and cool morning air
my dogs hound ears flapping and his curly puppy tail
breathing
the joy of having fully functional legs, a blessing easily taken for granted0 -
I love being on my own and if you've had a tough day, you realize maybe it wasn't SO bad after all.
Getting absolutely SOAKED in the rain and not being one bit bothered (i prefer to run in the rain than the sun, madness)
Showing myself that i can do somethng i never thought i could do, Last year i couldn't even run for 1 minute, now i have a 10k in september!)
Being able to push yourself that little bit and you feel so good afterwards!0 -
The accomplishment...for many reasons I shouldn't even be sitting here typing this note. The fact that I can lift myself out of bed and attempt to run is satisfaction.
Oh and doing things I was told I couldn't like 5K's!0 -
This is a great post!!!
Thinking about the song playing and the beat that makes me want to run faster.
The great feeling of being 50 and in the best shape I have been in a long time.
Knowing that this WORKS when it comes to exercise and weight control.
This is why my 36 inch pants fit!
I used to struggle to run 1.5 miles in the Navy twice a year, I am running 6 miles for workouts and recently knocked down a 10.2 mile run, which never EVER crossed my mind.
That I actually look Forward to a run!!!0 -
I love the two neighbors who started running recently because of seeing me out there almost every day.
I love the other neighbors who slow as they drive by, roll down their windows and ask how many days until race day/how many miles I am running today.
I love the support of the total strangers in my neighborhood who are now friends because of running.
I love that MFH (My Favorite Husband) supports my running habit.
I really, really love that my race is this coming Sat so I can have a week's break! HA!
I love completing a run and getting to literally wring out my sports bra from sweat. That lets me know I had a good run.
I love Peter, my Rooster, telling the entire neighborhood when I leave and when I get home. He's a nut! AND a tattle tale.
I love the feeling of success after completing a difficult run.
I love being able to EAT! That's always a bonus!
There are so many bonuses to running...I could blabber on all day. Seeing as y'all are probably snoozing now by reading my list, I will stop now0 -
watching the scenery go by me.
looking down and seeing my muscular thighs (vain I know, but I freaking love it).
Experiencing nature and the beauty that comes with every season.
Seeing the hare, the deer and the fox (yes, I live in the country and run through forests and along fields)
Listening to the leaves in the wind and the birds chirping
The wild berries that are now ripening and tend to pop into my mouth along the way.0 -
There are so many thing I love about running.....
-the peace
-the sweat dripping down my body
-the me time
-the runners high
-the freedom
-the breeze
-that my dog loves our runs
-the sense of accomplishment
I could go on and on....0 -
The challenge of the next up-hill segment
The chorus of GPS watch chimes at each mile-marker of a race
Thinking my pace is slow, then looking down at the watch and seeing it much faster than I thought
Wildlife (rabbits, squirrels, deer and random birds are the mainstays of my running routes)
And the de-stress that comes after the endorphins kick in0 -
Chasing down that runner's high, the feeling I am gliding gently over the pavement, a well-oiled machine, barely touching the ground. Some days I lumber through runs and never catch it, some days I find it immediately and set a new PR with ease.0

......the breeze keeping me cool.
The encouraging people along the way, whether it's a smile as I go by or a nice comment.0 -
I love that it's the only time my brain shuts up.0

Being alone. Without two screaming kids.
I know that seems like a bad mom thing to say, but I really cherish my running time.0 -
I love when I'm not feeling like a run that day, go anyway and get a new PB.
I love when I get home, my kids ask how far I ran and are really excited for me!
I love that my "short run" is 4.5 miles.
I love how much my body has changed since running.
I love that I can now run 10.5 miles without stopping, and feel like I could go more.
But with that said, I also love when I see the curve back to my house at the end of that 10.5 miles0 -
Thinking about how many calories I'm burning and what I can eat for dinner.0

When the animal chasing me finally gets bored and gives up pursuit.0

I love running up on someone running, catching up with them, pulling along side...speaking, and then leaving them there panting and struggling in my wake. Its the most badassed thing in a race to smoke these guys who think they are all that. I love the peace and solitude of running on my own...but when i race, I love to kick *kitten*.0

The quiet.
When I forget I'm running and just think about anything and everything.
Looking at the stars and moon when I run before the sun comes up.
Being able to go faster/farther.0 -
Running to the sweet sound of Iron Maiden \m/0

the fact that I can do something I never thought was possible
that I am not in competition with anyone but myself
the feeling of accomplishment
the connection to my Dad
the connection to myself

The alone time.
And all the food I get to eat to fuel it

the feeling of floating along,
running through every hill and obstacle,
the rhythm and cadence of a steady pace,
the outdoors and the ever changing scenery,
the bond I feel when I run with others,
the first cold taste of ice water after a long run,
the pure clean feeling of sweat and effort,
the relaxed sense of accomplishment,
the deep sense that this is what we were built for and made to do,
the realization that I am, in this moment, totally alive.
the satisfying taste of food after a challenging workout,
and the peace of mind and sleep that follows a great run.0 -
The cool breeze cooling me down,
the sound of my breathing,
letting my thoughts run wild,
being outside,
and feeling free.0 -
Hearing the world around me
Feeling my feet hit the pavement
Making it to the end of my run and realizing that I finished it.0 -
when bruno mars locked out of heaven comes onto my ipad. takes me back to the superbowl and the feeling of elation from when the seahawks won it. I speed up and fatigue drains from body when that song comes on no matter where I am in the run.0

knowing that I'm burning calories, getting in shape, setting new goals. That's also when I listen to the daily Rosary so it gets me in the right mindset for the rest of the day.0
