Time to Reclaim My Life

Hello,
My name is Berry and am relatively new to this site. I have a major weight issue that has just completely spiraled out of control. Yesterday I weighed in at 392 pounds and feel completely miserable in my own skin. There are a host of reasons that I want to lose the weight, however, the most important is that I want to be around for my family and actually enjoy life with them versus watching them from the couch.
I have never more depressed in my life and I have decided that it is time I do something about it. I am really not sure what my goal weight should be other than I want to try and do things right by eating healthier and start getting some exercise. I realize that this is a journey and not something that will happen overnight. Heck, It took me a while to gain all this weight, so I imagine it will take awhile to lose it all as well. My short term goal is to have steady weight lose week over week by increasing my activity level and eating much better (Healthier, less calories). I have so much weight to lose and will establish a goal weight once I get into a good rythm. I have a number in mind but Its a long ways off so I want to set my sights on the baby steps for right now.
I am committed to this process and really think that MFP will be a great resource to guide me along the way. I also plan to use this community board for inspiration when I hit some of the tough spots along the way.
