Lately i've been very much into female sports. For some reason i find female MMA more exciting then the men, and that Casey whats her name from American Ninja Warrior is probably one of the most impressive atheletes i've ever seen.
Not sure if this is a subject that has been done to death on here or not

Was watching real sports a few weeks ago and they had a story about the female IFBB and how they are now advocating more of a fitness model type physique over a more heavily muscled one.
The story was probably one for 15 min before they brought up the subject of steroids. At first i couldnt' believe it, i was like, this is HBO and were not going to talk about the 800 lbs gorilla in the room?
Finally it did come up, and they all chuckled when Gumble asked if a 100% drug free woman could hope to compete in the sport. They said that one and only one athlete is tested for drugs each year.
Many of the completitors that were former champions expressed that they would not be comfortable dropping muslce in order to be more competitive in the sport they loved.
Wondering what reactions to this are especially amoungst the female mfp 'heavy lifting' community.
Not sure what my thoughts are. But any sport where taking dangerous drugs is a prerequisite to simply competing is certainly not for the best. but you could, of course, say the same thing about male bodybuilding and perhaps all of pro sports in this country.

Don't men just use the word "Natural" for non steroid fuelled BB competitions?
The de facto standard otherwise is steroid, growth hormone, testosterone and anything else they can do just to increase muscle mass. Is this right? Probably not.
And Arnie used steroids, just not GH.0 -
no you are correct, unless specifically stated as 'natural', drugs are the unoffical norm of competition.
lol that i was originally just going to post this as a status, but decided to posted it in the forum instead hoping for more responses.
but i only hear from somebody on my FL lol.
FYI - arnold was also a heavy drug user, not sure if there is supposed to be a distinction in the graphic you posted.0 -
oh, i saw the little bit at the end.
I've also heard that HGH is increadibly more expensive and less effective then steroids... unless you meant Testosterone when you said GH, not sure how that compares0 -
HGH gives you the "HGH Gut". Pretty sure loads of the modern day guys take it.
Think you can really tell the difference when comparing physiques of Arnie and Tom Platz to that of Ronnie and Jay.0 -
i'm sure they probably cycle from one drug/hormone to the next. had read an article that HGH was just very expensive and took a long time to get much from it. it is used legitimately in healthcare for help healing certain injuries, but i suppose anabolic steroids may also be used that way.0
