Interesting Trends

Hey all,

I have noticed some interesting trends in the time that i have been using MFP. Over the past month i have lost 15 pounds. I quickly dropped about 8 pounds in one week, then balanced out to about 2 pounds a week average since then.

Watching the scale, i never lose weight during the week. I virtually always stay under my 1700 calorie limit, exercise each day, and never eat back my exercise calories, but i don't lose regardless. Then Friday night i usually indulge in a pizza, or some chinese food, or something i "shouldn't" eat. Saturday morning when i wake up and weigh myself, expecting to see the results of my bad food choices the night before, suddenly i weigh 2-3 pounds lighter. I find that to be interesting, but i'm certainly not complaining.

Has anybody else noticed anything "odd" about the way they lose weight?

I wish! But you are not the only one who has reported this. Some people incorporate a higher calorie day in their week or month specifically because this happens.

Sad to say, I am not one of them.

Losing (or gaining in my case) are not linear.
I weight myself everyday and look at rolling average.
Also I track weight and calories to manage a slow, lean bulk.

    ^^^^Yep.

My own chart comparing calories and weight:

  • for a large majority of my weight loss, i have only been weighing in once a week, every Monday morning, that is the weight that gets recorded.

Sometimes if i make a change to my diet or exercise routine, i will weigh in daily to see how the change effects things
