Hey everyone, my name is Matt im new here and just starting to excercise and working on cutting out alot of the unhealthy food i eat. I am a 30 year old father of 3 youngest is 2 and oldest is 11.
I weigh about 222 lbs and my goal is to get down to 180 and work on having a nice tone body.
I started working out about week ago, finally got a scale (had to wait till pay day) 4 days ago, we calibrated it and i weighed 231 lbs on thursday, now it is reading 222..
anyways hope to get some help from people on here who can guide me in the right direction as to what i am and am not doing right.
todays workout included
30 min treadmill "weight loss" workout #2
10 min treadmill "weight loss" workout #1
30 curls on each arm using a brick (were working on buying more equipment for our home gym but its slim right now so improvising.
50 jumping jacks '
10 pushups
25 weighted twist's using a small rubber ball, not much weight to it but it is something to hold onto.
plank till i couldnt hold myself up anymore.
25 bicycle crunches
30 donkey kicks
im not sure if its even possible to loose almost 10 lbs in only 4 days but im sure i have shed a couple lbs. im trying to get into the habbit of hopping on scale first thing in the morning before i eat or drink anything.

Hey Matt, feel free to add me if you like. I started trying to lose at age 38 and 213lbs. I am now 39 and around167ish. I log what I eat, weight train, and do cardio. I made my fair share of mistakes in my journey and lost way to much muscle in the process. I have learned, and am still learning, quite a bit from the people on MFP. Most are very helpful and some....well... they are just in it for the n00dz. You people know who you are. Anyway, there are a lot of like minded forum groups to join for support. If you are looking for good all around information I'll vouch for those at Eat, Train, Progress.
