Going out for a curry - HELP!

It's my brother's birthday tomorrow and he wants to go out for a curry at the local Indian. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some slightly less unhealthy options that I could go for? Obviously I know curries aren't healthy because the sauces are so creamy and rich, but anything to ease the blow a little bit! I really don't want to let my eating slip, but equally I want to enjoy the meal with my family. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would try to avoid cream based ones, and try and opt for a tomato based curry instead.0

Easy on the naan.
Other than that, I don't have a lot of suggestions. I do have to say though - I'm so jealous. I haven't had a good curry since visiting the in laws in ol' Bristol last Christmas0 -
Usually the lentil dishes are less calorie laden but still filling. Also the chickpea curries usually don't have cream. Tandoor chicken is marinated in spices & yogurt and then grilled so that is a good meat option.0

I'm so sorry! I love Indian food and besides that, I have problems of my own!
My dh and I are in Cooperstown for a business trip and on top of that-it's our 40th wedding anniversary!
We got to our hotel room and my beautiful dh had champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and beautiful red roses!
At that point, I threw in the towel and surrendered! Yummy surprise 40th anniversary treats for 2 days!
I will enjoy EVERYTHING and get back on track on Wednesday, lol!
I advise you to do the same.0 -
Thank you for the advice everyone! I'll probably go for a tandoori dish I think beacause then I won't have a heavy sauce. I'll try not to worry about it too much though!0

I typically go for tandoori chicken or fish. Also plain rice or roti instead of pillau or naan. Add some tarka daal and plain salad dressed with lemon.0
