Hi all. As the title stands, I'm looking for good post-exercise snacks/meals.
After a normal gym session I have a protein shake, but is there anything I can have later in the day/night that will aid in recovery as well?

some carbs...
I lift in the evening after work so my recovery meal is dinner and my protein shake. I have my longish ride on Saturday or Sunday though and when I finish up with a couple/three hours plus on the bike I generally don't feel like eating solid foods so I make a smoothie that consists of:
1 cup Fage non fat, plain greek yogurt
1 banana
3 oz mixed frozen berries
1/2 cup 1% milk
15 grams of almonds
and I suck that down...it's a good ratio of protein/carbs/fat to aid in recovery. About an hour later I usually have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a glass of chocolate milk for lunch.0 -
A foot long Chicken Teryaki from subway. no cheese, extra tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and some jalapenos.0
