Hello Friends,
I was wondering if anyone had ever received a B-12 shot and did it help with energy? I am constantly tired and have
been previously diagnosed with anemia. People keep telling me I need to get B-12 shots. I haven't had a shot since I
was about 12, I hate pain. Have anyone ever had these shots? Where does the Dr. shoot you? and how painful is it?
Those are my main 3 questions. I'm also wondering if i can find this in a pill form and will it be as effective?
I'm a 50yr old and pretty healthy, I'm just tired all the time. Any suggestions on ways to increase energy naturally or
any natural supplements to help?
Any suggestions appreciated..
Thanks!

I used to get b-12 shots every month, I didn't think it was making a difference at the time, but when I stopped getting them I felt more tired. They do have b-12 pills, you can get them anywhere like Walgreens or Walmart.0

I would take a Multi B-100 slow release when I didn't feel I was getting it with food. I was sluggish and tired. I felt like it helped, but it does take getting used to see the bright color of your tee tee. LOL0

I have gotten them before and they were super painful! The doctor said he thought I may have been getting an allergic reaction...I didn't notice any difference though.0

Yes, B-12 shot are great! A good source of your B12 vitamins. If you decide to take a supplement instead, try a food based vitamin product. Nature's way Alive brands and Rainbow light and Herbal Life make great supplements. B vitamins tend to run through the urine stream, so find a great product that has a great quality so that your body will absorb the supplement and not pass it through your system. Does that make sense? Typing real fast, gotta get to work!0

Consider getting your thyroid checked, that is one of the major signs....0

A friend gets one every weeks and she loves it. She ie able to do so much more. Me, I drink protein shake for breakfast every moring. It helps build your muscle and gives a lot of energy. You might want to try that instead of the shots. Only 110 cal for breakfast. 27 grams of protein0

A close friend of mine has been having b-12 shots as she has a b-12 deficiency. This helped with all her deficiency symptoms, fatigue and digestive issues she was having, but I can't see that if you weren't deficient how it would help you. Maybe before self prescribing medicine you should seek the opinion of a doctor and have some tests done? After all, it could be your symptoms are just down to something as innocent as lifestyle, or they could be down to something more sinister, especially as you say you've been diagnosed anaemic before. In the mean time if you think it will help b-12 supplements are pretty cheap to buy over the counter and certainly couldn't hurt if you think that is the problem, Iron too is good if you think it's to do with your anaemia. Good luck!0

as a nurse i give b-12 shots, but the physician i work with only prescribes them if you have a true b-12 deficiency: pernicious anemia. they really shouldn't hurt, it goes in the deltoid or gluteal muscle. maybe get a work-up done at your doctor's office, vitamin d deficiency can also cause fatigue, and i have seen that this is the case in a majority of patients as well as a thyroid issue...lots of causes... just a thought0

Another solution to get more in your diet might be to try "naked" all natural "green machine" blended juice smoothie. This stuff has things I wouldn't normally find delicious and avoid if I can, but shouldn't avoid. Google it. Im a fan of eating your vitamines and nutrition instead of taking pills and supliments. Although I am a believer in Glucosamine :-)0

A friend of mine was diagnosed with anemia and he needed to take iron supplements. Actually, I think, they gave him hemoglobin straight to his vein because his levels were so dangerously low.
He complained about constant wearyness too.0 -
Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I think getting some bloodwork done first is what I need to do... I don't wanna get these shots unless they are the last option. I didn't think about my thyroid, I better get that checked!0
