I gained 20 pounds when I stopped exercising and still consume the same calories which makes sense since I was eating more than I was burning. Then I decided to go to the gym regularry again but then I wasn't watching my calories and I lost some inches even though my weight stayed the same on the scale. I even had people telling me that it looks like I am loosing weight. However that was before I found mfp so I wasn't watching my calories at all. I was also snacking all day or eating a whole bag of chips at once. Now I look at the nutrition information on food and I am shocked to say that some bag of chips has around 200 calories per serving which would be on estimate 20 pieces and eating the whole bag would use up at least 90% of daily calorie intake.
Since I have joined I mfp and started counting calories, I now realized that i was eating way more than I thought as those calories in snacks even fruits add up really fast. I am surprise that I didn't continue to gain weight and in fact I was looing inches slowly than now. Now the pounds are coming off faster than since counting calories.
So is it harder to gain weight when you are active

It is not 'hard' to gain weight when you exercise. I run marathons and gained twenty pounds doing so. Why? Well, most people mistakenly subscribe to 'I can eat whatever I want, I did xxx today.' Not true. You still have to watch what you eat.0
