Edamame and soy

Okay, so I know that edamame is basically immature soy. I've had some recent blood sugar spikes when I eat soy products, like bread and cereal and have had negative reactions to soy "milk" in the past. However, I want to try a modified recipe for succotash that uses edamame in place of lima beans. As a dog person who often feeds raw food to her dogs, I know that even a dog that is sensitive to beef in kibble can eat raw beef bones on occasion without any ill effects and I'm wondering if that could hold true with the edamame. Has anyone got any experience with something like this? Or should I just not risk it and stick with the limas, which I do like?
