Can any one help? How do I incorporate exclusive breastfeeding (5 month old) to my food diary? How many cals on average does breastfeeding use? Thanks

There is an entry in the food journal if you search breastfeeding - it adds a negative amount of calories depending on how often you are feeding

I have read it burns around 300-400 calories a day :-)
I was also told not to go under 1700 calories a day to make sure you keep up your supply.0 -
Psych is right! There's a breastfeeding option in the food journal. It'll set your daily calories to the minus range to start your day off to make sure you're eating enough.
There's also a super helpful breastfeeding community here too.0 -
Everyone will burn different amounts of calories when breastfeeding, so its a bit tricky.
I entered it for a while, but quickly decided it wasn't worth guessing. 300 calories wasn't going to make a huge difference to me.
I say listen to your body! It will tell you if you're eating too much or not enough.0
