Help - Gaining Weight but still within my calories

So, after deciding that Slimming World was no longer for me, I decided to embark on a fitness regime to help me lose weight and get fair healthier - my hubby is prove you can be thin and very, very unfit - but since starting this, my weight has gone up by half a stone but my measurements for my waist, hips and bust have all gone down.
Should I be worried or should I focus on my actual size rather than my weight?

^This is what I'd like to know, too. It could just be a water weight fluctuation from the change in your eating habits. But if it's been more than a couple of weeks and you're still gaining then it's time to reassess and make sure you're still eating in a deficit.

Hiya.
It has been over two weeks. Two weeks ago, I weighed in at 12st 7, but I've gone to 13st but I've not eaten over my calorie deficit when considering a whole week - I tend to eat a bit more at the weekend and then burn it off over a week. But the last two weeks, I've had gains.
Over the last two weeks I have also increased my exercise in prep for the school hols. I've been jogging 2 days out of 3 and I've actually lost two inches off my measurements in this time - bust, waist and hip.
Am I just building muscle? I feel very disproportionate because I still have my baby belly.0 -

Muscle is actually pretty hard to build and I doubt you'd put on enough muscle to offset the losses you should be seeing in just two weeks. You might be holding onto some extra water weight from the increased activity, though. It's not uncommon to see a slight increase on the scale when you increase your workout routine because sore muscles get flooded with extra fluid to help cushion and repair them. Sometimes people mistake this for new muscle, but it should only be a temporary increase.0 -
If your measurements are going the direction you desire, then I wouldn't worry about the number on the scale ;-)0
