We had a mixed bag this week, but as a group, we still lost weight!!!

ClaryPR (who has lost her 1st 10 lbs now!!!) gets biggest loser honors for this week and gets to create a challenge for the rest of us.

As for me, still struggling with weekend eating habits, ALWAYS HUNGRY!!! I was hoping to lose a pound and a half at least, but I suppose I should be happy losing anything.

My personal challenge this wek will be to limit the frosted sugar cookies, white chocolate pretzels, and corn casserole portions on Thanksgiving. (3 of my favoritte things in the world)

So for anyone who wants to join...........1st off Welcome!!!!!!!

During your 1st week in the group, send me your starting weight, last Sunday's weight, and this week's Sunday weigh in. All information must be sent to me by noon Central on Monday. All subsequent week's you just have to give me your current weight from Sunday by noon on Monday.

This is an open group, and we love to have new people join. If you want to join, go ahead and start posting, tell us about yourself, and why you are wanting to lose wight, many of us have been doing this diet thing a while and may be able to answer a lot of our questions!!!!

Forgot to send my weight in, I am sorry!!! I will do better next week!
  • I would absolutely love to join this group! Losing weight is definitely more fun and a little bit easier when you're doing it along side others. I've actually been participating in a weight loss competition at work-today was our last weight in. I did end up losing 3 pounds according to the scale at work...but Sunday is my cheat day from my diet so my weight really fluctuates on Mondays. At home I weigh in Sunday mornings before I eat so this works perfectly for me.

My starting weight is 180 pounds. My weight last Monday was 175.3. My weight today was 177.1. If you'd prefer that I message you I can do that also.

So... a little bit myself...My name is Shawna and I am 26 years old. This is the second journey on which I've embarked to lose weight. I actually need to lose 50 pounds and people look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them that because I don't look like i'm 50 pounds overweight. I guess I should be glad that I carry it well?I'm 5'3" and medically should weight between 110 and 135 pounds. I'm trying to get down to 125. Growing up I was always thin. in college I maintained a weight of about 133 pounds-always wanting to lose 5 pounds or so but not working hard to get there. When I graduated from college I went from 133 pounds to 170 pounds. I got down to 137 by running...but then I stopped. That was about a year and half ago and now I am here at currently 177 pounds.

My biggest challenges are social eating and stress eating. It's amazing how social of an event food becomes. It's also amazing to me how I will sometimes cave and eat the comfort food that I know is bad for me when I'm feeling upset about not losing as much weight as I want to. I do find that I am getting better at both of these aspects, however.

I wasnt to lose weight because I want to feel like myself again. I find that I'm tired a lot and have really low self-esteem. That just isn't me! I used to be so energetic and outgoing. Now I won't even go to the bar or dancing with my friends because I feel disgusting and don't want people to look at me. I think it upsets me more because I already lost weight and then started back up on my old, crappy habits and just got even fatter :/ So that's me in a nutshell. Hello all :)

Morning all...I went to the 5 am Insanity class at my church today. Oh my! It is the hardest thing I have ever done. I thought P90X was hard:laugh: I burned 630 calories in 35 minutes! We go again tomorrow and then off two days for Thanksgiving. I'm not sure I can hang with Shawn T, we'll see. I have just a little bit of work this morning and I definitely see a nap in my future. Hope everybody has a good day.

    Welcome Shawna:smile:

I must have been retaining water because I am today back down to 147.6 - so that is a relief - so I only gained for 1 day. I am going to make sure it goes down this week. Although I have another one of those pesky Christmas parties this weekend - restraint - restraint restraint- Maybe I should be the designated driver!!!

    Congratulations, ClaryPR.
The challenge could be exercise or food related or both. Like if you wanted everyone to do a certain amount of exercise or eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. Just examples. Anything you would want to work on for yourself would be good for the rest of us, too!!
  • Thanks Cah0806.

Well, personally I'm trying to drink more water because I drink a day just two or three glasses and other things is eat less sugar.

That would be the challenge. Very easy EHHH hahaha

Well I won't be having green bean casserole, corn casserole, sugar cookies or frosted covered pretzels Thursday because the wife told everyone to not even bother to make the stuff. So we are going to be much more health conscious this year, so I guess I don't have to worry as much about all the temptations.

Smoking Turkey tomorrow, always enjoy using the smoker.

Had a bad day today, but will try to be better tomorrow. Had to fast before a Dr. Appointment, then I made up for all the calories I missed and then some.

We will go to the Grove Park Inn to see the gingerbread house and Christmas tree display tomorrow night. I'll post some pics for ya'll. Have a safe and fun holiday!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends. Now, I bet you're all working off those calories hitting the mall. I did my shopping online this morning and got about 80% done already. Now, just the clothes and the hubby's gift.

I did well yesterday and completely avoided the sweet tea, biscuits, potatoes, and desserts. Now, if I can just leave the two pies alone that I was forced to bring home. I have a feeling they are going to end up in the garbage can.

Hope you all did well and if not, today's a new day! Probably won't be on here much the next couple of days. Got 4 papers to write between now and 12/15 for my master's degree I'm working on. Not to mention baby detail and housework! My little one is 3 months today! Time sure does fly by!!

Better get to work. Have a great day and "see" you for weigh in on Sunday!

  • HELLO,

Through the post to see how are you all. I've had some good days, but do not know why sometimes I feel as heavy or swollen, but when I weigh myself, I'm in the same weight. Today when I got up and saw me though I lost a few ounces more. A question, when it is better to weigh in the morning or at night?

    TAKE CARE AND GOOD LUCK

I always weigh first thing in the morning before I eat breakfast. That is usually my lightest weight of the day. You may feel bloated if you are eating extra salt. That happens to me a lot after holiday meals. I try to drink extra water, which is one of the hardest things for me.

Afternoon all...I went back to bed this morning after the boys went to school and didn't get up until 10:00. Whew, I am just pooped. It is rainy and cold here today so that may be part of it. I also forgot to wear my HRM for a new P90X/Insanity combo class yesterday and I might have overdone it. I was exhausted all day. Exercise should make me feel better, not worse. We are doing P90X Yoga for 1-1/2 hours tomorrow so I'll be sure to wear my HRM. I may take today off from exercise just to recover. I'm thinking about doing a recovery drink from Beach Body or a recovery protein shake after class each morning. Any suggestions on which is better? I have to have something that tastes good or I'll end up not drinking it and wasting my money. Thanks for any input. Hope you all have a great day:smile:

Amanda...I know what you mean. I think I managed to stay the same but I have to get back into good eating habits now. It doesn't take much to throw me off the wagon again:laugh:
