calories in a pear

is there really over 100 calories in a pear? I couldnt believe it its was amazing to see that much in one pear well large pear but wow!

    my pear was almost 170 calories wow ill think twice before eating one of thoes again

    and sure enough, there are nearly 100 calories per pear! :noway:

    that sounds way too high! what kind was it, how big? check www.calorieking.com. Should be around 100 calories depending on size.

    You have to be careful pulling foods off the listing in the food diary, there are several errors....

    i weighed my pear its 270 grams a large one its like 170 calories im like wowza!

    it's good calories thought, fiber, vitamins, good carbs, natural suger that won't spike your insulin levels, all good stuff, I would never worry about eating fruit.

    Banks- do you still record fruit and veggies when you eat them? I love apples, but those things are almost as high in calories as pears. And I find myself saving those for "treats" :grumble:
