Two weeks!

I have weighed 198 everyday for the past two weeks. I have been tracking everything I eat, doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, running, working hard at roller derby practice...ugh I'm so frustrated. I know this happens, but I just came here for a little encouragement. The last thing I need at this point is to give up and gain all the weight back that I lost.

Hi There,
I am a 5'7", I started at 203 and I have been losing 2-3 lbs per month. I eat 1800-2200 calories per day.
You are either:
1. Not estimating your calorie intake as well - When I bought a digital scale it opened my eyes.
2. At your weight you could be easily eating 1600+ calories a day and losing.
Hang in there... it is not a "diet" but a process - If you want to lose 40-50 lbs i say that it is going to take 12-18 months to do it right.
Here is a great post to get started with which is a permanent link on the forums

I just figured out my BMR and TDEE. I actually do it on several different sites and take the average.
You should be eating somewhere between your BMR and TDEE to lose weight.
If MFP gave you 1200 it is probably because you set a goal of 2 lbs per week and maybe entered sedentary and lightly active
If you net any less than 1000 calories on a regular basis you will lose energy to work out and have bad consequences in the long term.
Hope that this helps!0 -
I have a love/hate relationship with my scale. Makes me furious when that stupid needle doesn't move and I've been busting my butt. One thing that always helps me is taking my measurements. Typically when the scale isn't moving and I'm working hard, I'm gaining muscle and I find that I'm losing inches. I don't know if you've taken your measurements but if you haven't, you might find it pretty motivating.
Best of luck!!0 -
I can relate my friend. After losing a lot of weight i can tell you that these plateaus do happen sometimes and you just have to work through them. I have had success breaking the stalls by doing a 36 hour fast, but I would not recommend unless you have free time because you will get really weak after about 16 hours.
There are a lot of other ways that people try to break stalls, but I like to think that our bodies just need a few weeks to readjust to all the changes we are putting it through. Not saying that is medically accurate, but thinking that way helps me cope with the stall.
Now obviously you do need to make sure that you are being very accurate with your calorie counts, that is something that can easily keep you from losing. If you are doing everything right just give it time. You may be gaining some muscle and that will negate the fat you lost. Take measurements all over your body. I once spent a month with not 1lbs lost but ended up losing 4 inches on my stomach in that time. A scale does not always represent our changes.0 -
Two weeks isn't very long. Your body may be taking a break or you may want to up calories by about 100 for a week and see if that helps. You are tough to be doing roller derby so I think you got this.0

thanks for all the encouragement. I bought a food scale when I began this journey and have used it religiously. I'm also really very anal when it comes to logging everything; I have a friend who's doing MFP with me and she made fun of me yesterday for logging one fourth of a serving I had of a dark chocolate bar. But I want to track everything that goes in my mouth! You're right though...2 weeks is not a long time. I'm just frustrated because I had a goal to be at 190 by the time my boyfriend comes home from the marines to visit. At this rate I won't get there, no matter how hard I work now. But then I realize I've lost 23 pounds. I've come a long way.0
