If the measurements are accurate, it's because you have more muscle, probably.

This.. body composition determines stats, not weight. So if you have more muscle (which is more dense that fat), you will be slimmer.

    Exhibit A. - 10 and 20 lb muscle gains.

Are you using a tape measure that auto-tightens to the exact same tautness each time? If so, you've got muscle. If not, then you may need more data to be sure.

No I just use a standard tape measure, been using the same one for years. So I know I might not get the "exact" spot every time....

Also, having babies can do crazy things to your body - weight, composition, extra skin, etc.

I've had 3 now, and I've gotten down to the weight I was 10 years ago, but clothes I KNOW fit me at the time (because I was still hanging on to some of them) fit me differently. My waist is smaller, but my hips and, um, lower front belly are bigger.

    ^ True.

And you could have just measured in a slightly different spot or tightened the tape differently.

So, it might be a little off. Chalk some of it up to measurements.

Also, losing weight- the same person doesn't always lose or gain from the same spots. I have a dress I wore 3 years ago that fit me like a glove. I think I was 10 lbs less than I weigh now. Now, when I wear it (at a higher weight), it's a little baggy in the waist and hip, but it's WAY too small in the chest. Like, a full cup size too small. No, I haven't had kids.

The good news is that when you do get down to the weight you were before, your measurements will be even smaller =)

Thanks, that is what I am hoping for!

Aw, thank you! I still have a ways to go to fit in all my pre-baby clothes, but I'm working on it.
