Broken Foot - Exercise Ideas

I took an unfortunate step down stairs this week and ended up needing a 'walking boot' on which I can put partial weight for the next 4 weeks. Since I can't do my normal routine of hiking and bike riding, I am going to join the gym or hang out at the rec center a lot.

Has anyone had a broken foot and found some exercises that worked well? Doc said I can do the stationary bike with my boot on...

Thanks!

I've seen people with air casts on at the gym doing some kind of cardio machine where they stand up and grip the handles and spin them in a circular motion. You can do them in wheelchairs too. They are apparently called Hand Ergometers. Not sure if all gyms have them.
