Is getting out of weight loss plateau just about calories?

I made a post recently about a weight loss plateau I have been in. I had only one response yet a good response with a link to a site that discussed calorie assessment and proper portions. The question to mfp folks is whether it's all about calories in and calories out for weight loss? Does the excercise matter or do you need to change up the exercise too. What I mean is no matter what excercise you do is just burning more then you consume enough?

This. Also for weight loss purposes. Exercise can increase the size of your deficit. But it's ultimately the calorie deficit that results in weight loss. Wether you achieve the deficit by sweating your *kitten* off or starving yourself or a more balanced approach is completely up to you. But it's the DEFICT that does it.

I used to exercise for calories to eat more. Now I exercise to keep fit and eat cleaner. If your weight loss had plateau I would do something different for a Couple of weeks come off the diet or start some new exercise. I read somewhere that most diets slow down After a few weeks as the body gets used to your routine. Some people out there will call bull****, all I know is it worked really well for me Last year. Took 3 weeks off then cruised those Last few pounds to goal weight.

Sorry did not know about guidelines. Did not know I could not ask a question freely. I was not satisfied with the answer or quantity of responses I got. No one else would answer so I asked again in what I thought was a clearer way.
