right, well tomorrow night i'm out for a meal with friends(first time in a year or two!) but i can't find the nutrition information of the menu anywhere on mfp so i can plan my food in advance!
i don't have time to exercise tomorrow...my daughter is severly disabled so i'm backed up with appointments from 8am-5pm ish so there is NO WAY i can fit in a workout
so do i just eat super low all day and hope it's within calorie limits(doubt i'll eat more than half of each portion in this case!) or just relax, enjoy and take it as a 'treat' meal!?!

If you know the place you're going out to eat, try going to the website and look at the nutrition facts. Most restaurants have them listed.0

I would try to focus on ordering protein and vegetables if you don't know the calorie counts. So, maybe a salad with meat or meat with steamed veggies. If there are any sides such as potatoes, corn, french fries etc. ask if you can substiute them for steamed broccoli, asparagus, spinach etc.
Usually a lot of empty calories are eaten up by breads, tortillas, chips, etc. I hope this helps! Have fun! :happy:0 -
Hi
where are you going to eat?
if we had an idea of the menu we could work out which options would be lower in calories.
Personally i would say it is just 1 night and its not like it going to happen all the time so i would just forget about it to some extent ---try to eat light during the day, dont drink too much and try to make healthy choices if possible....one day really isnt going to hurt just get back on track the day after and try to do a little extra work out to compensate.
Have a great night out :-)0 -
If I were you, I would just relax and enjoy the time spent with your friends (especially since you haven't gone out to eat with them in so long). One meal isn't going to jeopardize your lifestyle change.0

I have to agree! It's been a long time for you. You are tied up with kids normally. This is a time to check menue ahead, consider your options, but above all relax and enjoy it. Log it, but don't sweat it. It won't set you back much being so rare.0 -
Order apps! Get one salad-based app and one protein-based app. That will keep the portions down and you'll get plenty of veggies.0

Make an educated guess. If you're having grilled chicken breast with steamed veggies and rice, just use the closest match in MFP's database, or check Calorie King:

I used to have a copy of the Calorie King book that I would take with me when I went out to eat.0
