Wake Up

I wake up everyday and say ok I am going to be good today. And usually do great but by the end of day, I blow it. Over the years I have maintained at 185 to 190 on a 5'6 large frame (hayhauler female frame) and I exercise, and eat well, I can just overeat on spinach, fruit, lean meat. When I was about 45 I lost 15 to 20 pounds - busting my *kitten* running/walking then I hurt my ankle a couple of times, and gave up the running deal and have settled on walking, because I would rather be able to do something instead of nothing. I am 50 now. I also blamed my wine, gave that up.....still no weight lost. I am just not happy the way I look, but I am not willing to give up eating healthy regular food that I cook. Never eat out - I despise it. I think it is just a bunch of crap to eat the Nutri System type foods to control portion, food is awful and eventually you have to eat real food again. I look at my history on caloric intake and I just don't go crazy over - and do not understand that so many folks eat the same amount of calories as I do and lose weight. Good Jesus I cant eat only 500 calories a day.! I have had a few bad days in a carb attack but that is not normal for me, not sure if depression or stress at my job or just flat *kitten* out of control to blame for that. Love to hear from others and any advice.

Why would you eat 500 calories only? I may be taking that too literally.
Also, something I have noticed is a lot of people who really struggle and/or yo yo with their weight have the same mindset of "today I am going to be good". My advice is to completely stop thinking like that. You are good. You aren't good only IF you eat super healthy and very little. It's not black/white like that.
Live your life, eat all the food, just stick within your daily allotment of calories and see what happens.0 -
Yea, I did not mean literally. I have a friend that says it is not that black and white also. I guess I don't get that. Unfortunately I get black and white and I also get moderation lol I think. Sounds more like I need to lay on a Doctors couch. thank you for responding.0

No problem! I sincerely think that black/white stuff can be difficult to get around, and I have struggled with that myself. For more than 20 years (since I was a teenager) I was over 240 lb and at one point 307. I would get fed up with my weight and decide "I am never eating junk/sweets again, it's just vegetables and lean meat and tiny portions from now on" and that lasted 5-6 days and then I would have cravings and see no difference in my weight or the way clothes fit (since it was such a short time) and I would just go right back to eating what I did before. Black/white. Joining this website has helped me transfer those "black/white" tendencies into my dedicated logging. Instead of being like "I ate a Snickers bar, I blew my entire diet, the end" I think, "I MUST meet my calorie goal every single day no matter what" and that is something I can actually do! So it's still a bit of the black/white thinking, just a little easier to succeed.
I wish you all the best!0
