I had a lot to lose - still have 30 pounds to go. The loss is a lot slower now, and I am trying to get my mind to accept that. lol.
I drink more water. I eat more protein than I ever knew I should. These two things were key for me, but everyone is different.
I stayed away from sweets, 100% of the time - including no Christmas cookies/treats. That was a personal decision.
I track calories. Some days I go over, some under.
I calculated the number of calories I needed for a deficit to lose 2 lbs a week, and ate at that.
At the start, some weeks I lost 3 to 5 lbs, but that was not in my goal. My body I think was just ridding itself of excess fluid, etc.
I also calculated how many calories I would have to burn to lose an additional lb per week.
I never eat my exercise calories back.
I exercise every day - no rest days.
Each day though, is something different - cardio, strength, etc.
Some days I exercise 2 hours, most days only an hour.
I also switch up the intensity, so that my muscles recover.
Oh, and I joined MFP!0 -
Congrats! You look awesome!! Keep up the hard work0
