Samsung Gear Live as a Heart Rate Monitor?

has anyone used the new Samsung gear Lives as a Heart Rate Monitor if so how has it worked out compared to a Polar FT4? Does it work well as a step counter and such?

    The problem is the Samsung phone HRM is not continuous. Stopping what you are doing and Checking your HR every now and then has limited usefulness.

    Edit: Sorry I misread your post and thought you were referring to the phone. Re the Samsung smartwatch; most reviews show it to be inaccurate and finicky about how it must be worn or moved.
