The Belly Pudge

So, since using myfitnesspal, i've lost a total of 60 pounds. You might not be able to tell by looking at me with clothes on, but i do have a stomach that still protrudes, especially when I sit down. I understand that everyone pretty much has a little bit of it but even after losing all the weight that I did, I cannot seem to get rid of this extra fat or whatever it might be. It's a bit excessive. I've tried all sorts of stuff to get rid of it by doing crunches, planks, etc but it's still too 'bubbly' in my opinion. It's a bit annoying when I want to wear fitted clothes because it jiggles when I walk and guts out when sit. What can I eat, not eat, do, or not do to help this extra annoying belly fat?

I just want a flatter stomach like so many smaller women out there. I know I will always be on the pudgy side for the rest of my life but i just want a stomach I can be happy with, especially when I'm not standing. Any tips/advice?

I have lost 30 pounds and also still have the big belly hunny so I know your pain :( but there is hope as many wwomen here are living proof! I was suggest to keep a small defit and start weight traing with enough protein. The weight training from my knowledge isn't what will make your tummy flatter, that is where the deficit does the work. It will make your body tight, and less jiggly. It will also help not lose too much lean muscle. Good luck sweety, we can do this! ( and congrats on your weightloss! Fantastic job!)

I've got my last 10 lbs to lose and most of it seems to be on my belly and love handles! I guess that's being an apple shape for you. The only thing that has ever got rid of it is to lose enough fat. Usually down to around 9 st for me at 5'3" and by doing core exercises. My hips are really narrow and my shoulders are broad, so I'll never have a tiny waist. Hrmph!

unfortunately you cant spot reduce fat. congrats on the 60 pound loss. did you strength train with full body compound movements while you lost? that might help.

in the meantime, i suggest spanx or squeem

I did weights while i did cardio. Each day I concentrated on a different area. It helped a bunch but im not sure if this extra stuff will come off. It might just be there for the rest of my life. But I will certainly do my best.

And im not sure what spanx or squeen is. I'll have to look it up. Thanks!

Spanx are "control undergarments"... high-tech modern girdles by another name.
They should control the jiggle, smooth things out.

But they're right, the only way to get rid of the pudge is to lose the fat.
Beefing up the underlying muscles would give better support, and once the fat recedes the area will look better.

I have a pudge problem too, along with the back of my arms staying flabby. :frown:
I'm beginning to really see & feel muscles on the front of my upper arms, as well as the top & back of my shoulders, but even though I've done just as many tricep dips as bicep curls (and I'm using more weight for the triceps), the back of my arm is still icky.
