becoming super curvy after losing alot of weight

what's going on everyone!!! for all of us fitness is part of our lives and along our journey we've grown to love it. especially those who have done a complete 360 in their appearance. i've seen some incredible transformations. and most of the most dramatic transformations have been from women. don't get me wrong us fellas do well but woman usually have to work alot of harder to get some of the results us guys achieve. with that being said i'd like to ask women who were thicker, heavier and lost weight; what did you do to either enhance the curves you had hidden under bodyfat, or what did you do to create curves that you thought you never had? reason i ask is because i know a good deal of females that simply don't understand this concept and think they might lose their nice hips, booty, chest, or whatever from focusing on lifting despite me telling them different. so i thought asking females who achieved this goal would help them since it would be coming from the actual people who did it.

Hi there. As for me I really didn't "create my curves" but I focused on fat loss and not the scale and had to mentally prepare to accept whatever the fat was hiding for so many years. I was overweight or chubby most of my life so I had no idea, but I knew I wanted to be fit, strong but still curvy.
In terms of what I did I credit lifting heavy weights for keeping boobs and behind perky and not having to deal with loose skin, Pilates for strengthening and firming up my core, bodyweight exercises (like mountain climbers and planks to target my core) and power walking has been incredible for overall fat burning and toning up my lower body (especially with my hips, thighs and calves).
For me this combination seemed to target the areas I wanted to lose in, but keep and reshape the areas that I wanted to stay, but improve. Also my workouts were all low impact and easy on my joints so while I challenged myself, I never dreaded working out. I take an active rest day whenever it's needed.
I've been maintaining for well over one year now and those are still main workouts. I've just increase my speed walking miles to about 25 - 35 miles per week and been throwing in some light jogging intervals. I occasionally do some HIIT to mix things up a bit.
Lastly and most importantly though I had to get my diet in check. During weight loss mode I still made or went out for treats once in a while, but I had to earn or burn some of it off. Now I don't even crave or want to eat a lot of the high calorie things I used to eat.

110lbs ago I was lumpy not curvy
After losing weight I have discovered curves that were predominately lumps before. I also feel that my muscle has provided some nice curves where my frame is more square, if that makes sense
Really curves come from our chest, waist, glutes, thigs/hams and weight training will enhance these features if done while losing weight0 -
Well I have actually had people comment I have "lost" some curves...
When I was 50+ lbs heavier my hips were wider and my girls were definately bigger and I was an hour glass...
Since losing the weight I have lost 2 cups sizes (back to normal size for me) and my hips have well...disappeared...or so I am told.
My hips are 38inch...but that comes from my booty which I love.
I am still curvy (regardless of what other women say to me, and yes it's always women who comment on my loss of curves)
I would presonally rather have this body with the high tight butt, slim waist and mid section, defined arms and back smaller breast than have to deal with that extra 50lbs...
Curvy, mainly hard (defined muscle when I flex) and smaller...I regret nothing...
Oh and those women who tell me I lost my curves I just assume that there is some sort of jealousy going on....to be quite frank.0 -
Initially I only focused on weight loss! But after I lost enough where it was noticeable I started strength training because I did start feeling like I was getting more of a boxy shape as the weight came off. Which I was not happy with. But u can't really pick where u lose weight from first. So the goal was to burn more fat from the tummy area and keep the curves! And I figured that the only way to do that was to build muscle. So I started finding out what body builders do to build muscles (especially the glutes! Lol!) and I kept hearing to lift heavy weights. So now I lift heavy with lower reps per set and try to challenge myself by adding a little weight or doing extra reps each workout and it has definitely made a difference! I find my waist slimming nicely and my curves have a better shape to them. So I believe the answer is to not be afraid of lifting heavy weights to maintain some curve appeal. Hope that helps someone! You will lose some of the curves (especially in the breast area for some of us!) but the curves u keep or build will look a lot nicer without the extra fluff!0
