Rowing Machines - which one? advice?

I am thinking hard about purchasing a rowing machine and would like feedback on models, price anything please!

I'd suggest a Concept 2 or a WaterRower. Both of those have a smooth reliable action and they're very robust.

Avoid anything with hydraulic resistance or spring resistance as the action isn't smooth and they're not reliable.
