do you workout on thanksgiving days? My gym is open and I want to go but would it be wrong to leave my family for 2 hours to work out?

I think I'm going to spin tomorrow morning. I'll be leaving the turkey in care of my husband and family for an hour or so. I know i'll be able to handle the stress with a good workout!

I work out at home and will be doing it in the morning before we head to my mom's for dinner. Can you go to your gym first thing in the morning? That way you get in your exercise and who really wants to visit with family at 7 or 8 in the a.m. If you have stuff to do just plan your gym time in, get food prepped tonight and leave a to do list for some assistants at home.
  • I'm going! Just do it first thing in the morning to get it out of the way before the festivities start! (it's a day that definitely needs the gym to be in it!)

Yeah I planned on going as soon as I wake up in the morning. But my mom is acting like I will be ruining my kids whole day. I dont even live with the woman. My husbands says go for it.

I called the gym, and they will not be open tomorrow, but you better believe I will be using that treadmill and my yoga video at home! It is a MUST, I don't want to let myself down, and stop the progress.

I vote for you husband!! Mom's can be old fashioned, your kids might not even be up yet if you go early enough. Besides you are getting healthier and they will appreciate that much more than one Thanksgiving morning that they will forget in a matter of weeks.

Listen to a wise man! You'll be happier for going and so enjoy the rest of the day!

Go! Why do Mothers do that - put their own guilt on us. Listen to your hubby and GO!
  • I am going to work out in the morning before I start cooking and doing what needs to be done. I am making sure I am getting up in enough time to do everything. I don't think its a good idea to indulge and not work out.

Thanks everyone. Have am aesome workout tomarrow and a great holiday!!!!
  • I always make Thanksgiving day and Christmas day free days. I eat guilt free and I skip working out. I have not gained weight over the holidays in 2 years so it works for me.
