I arrived at my mom's house for the holidays, and while talking to family I have just been pigging out. Not making good choices at all, it's like a nervous habit or something. Everybody eating chips and cookies, and I so badly want to just say "it's the holidays, screw it"

Regardless, I am still logging. I just did, which is why I am upset! Only have 430 calories left, and that is entering in my exercise that I still have to do. I am considering adding 30 minutes of walking to the end of my C25K run, just to burn a little extra calories. Bad Idea?

Any tips/advice/encouragement would be MUCH appreciated. Hope everybody has a great holiday!

Why would that be a bad idea? Sounds like you have a plan. Go for it!!!
  • i think that's a good idea, that's what i'm going to do tomorrow. my C25k, then extra walking/jogging some push-ups and pilates... then off to family

I think that a bit of extra exercise is a good plan. Just do your best today and make sure you enjoy yourself as well!
  • We aren't talking about anything strenuous so yeah go for it!!! Be as active as you can. Suggest tossing a football or heck even turn on a wii, something that gets you moving with your family. :)

Everything in moderation. It's hard not to fall back into old habits. Be easy on yourself, there's no point guilting about something that has already happened. Just be aware and have plenty of water. Get some extra exercise if you can. Don't sweat it too much, that will just become an endless cycle.

    Take good care of yourself.

don't be so hard on yourself......Tomorrow starts a new day
  • It's easy to do around family - something to do with regression, I think .. which includes old habits. Don't let it knock you sideways - you're still faithfully tracking, and this might even be a valuable reference for you in the future. Avoid gabbing in the kitchen if you can, or anywhere you can pick and eat without realizing it - and bring your family in on your goals and let them be supportive. And remember the mantra ... tomorrow is a new day.

Applaud yourself for continuing to log everything. That is GREAT! Definitely take that extra walk and really drink your water to keep everything flushed out. Stick to your guns by continuing to log, exercising, and drinking that water.

    You got this!
