Hey all,
I am finally utilizing more tools that MyFitnessPal offers! I've realized that community forums are great ways to hold you accountable and keep you motivated.
I am as my subject notes, a college student who had one too many dates with Little Debby and her great aunt Hostess over the years. I had the biggest weakness for sweets and drank milk like I should be drinking water! That basically equates to almost a gallon a day! While I was never really obese, I had a not so attractive double chin, slight bulge in my belly, and small man boobs.
Long story short I came to realize two principle facts. Any pursuit one takes whether it be losing weight or dropping some other bad habit, it all boils down to these two things, COMMITMENT and DISCIPLINE. Each Jan 1st I said I want to lose weight, but the commitment wasn't really there. Each January 10th, I had forgotten all about my plan and failed miserably on the discipline side of things!
All in all now, I have both rock solid and they are my driving force as well as two famous sayings, Never, never, never, never give up! and Those who give up, never realize how close to success they were.
From my highest weight ever, 210lbs, I can say that I have in the last 6 weeks gotten down 11lbs,
With next semester coming up soon I know that my 2 mile excursion each day from class to class will also help me reach my goal. I also when time permits go kayaking, mountain biking and jogging.
I welcome any responses, comments, suggestions, tips, or complaints (not sure why anyone would really have any) that you may find encouraging to me.
