And now I am hungry........

Okay, so I am fairly new to the boards, but after the first week (dropped 4 lbs- but please realize, I had major bloating from a 2 week vacation, so I think some of that was was just excess water gain) I was noticing when I checked out at the end of the day the projected weighht loss was a lot slower than I wanted it to be. (Less than a pound a week)
So, I was super motivated and decided to up that loss- so I changed my daily calorie allotment just by 130 calories or so.... I have tried my best to follow it for the last 3 days, but I am now super hungry! I can't decide if that is a good thing, because maybe I am hungry becasue my body is finally noticing the place I am at and burning at a rate that I will lose faster, or if it is a bad thing because the last 2 days I have actually felt like I am 'going without' and feeling hungry most of the day.
Any thoughts? ANd specifically, if you feel a little hungrier though out the day, does that mean your body is burning fat? I am NOT starving myself, let me make that clear, but even with eating my meals and snacks I am just still feeling a little tired and hungry.

there is another thread real close to this... sorry* I didn't see it when I started, but I am wondering more specificly if I should up my caloires back or stick it out and let my body adjust. I am set to eat 1350 calories a day- and that is not too bad.....0

Hi!...you probably already know this, experts say never to fall below a 500 calorie deficit...meaning your BMR plus any exercise calories burned, then subtract 500 calories...this would be your daily calorie goal for maximum safe and healthy weight loss.
The older you get, the slower the weight loss...they say that healthy weight loss should be about 2 lbs a week...I'm 51 now and loose about 1 lb every week...sometimes it takes 2 weeks to loose 1 lb...this is a way of life for me, not a diet...I've had to learn about proper nutrition and it takes practice to get good at it...I've had to overcome hunger as well and learn how to discipline myself to reach my goals...keep your eye on the prize and never give up!0 -
I was feeling exactly how you are just a few weeks ago. Try not being so impatient with the weight loss, paying too much attention to the scales will be frustrating. What I have done the last couple of weeks is up the amount of calories I am burning. This seems to be helping out a lot and I am not so hungry anymore! GOOD LUCK0

With only 12 lbs to lose, I would increase the calories back up. If in 6 lbs you don't lose any for 3 weeks, cut the calories or increase your exercise. Don't be in a hurry. Next year will be here before you know it and if you only lost a lb a month, you would still get there by next year. :happy:0
