One day isn't going to hurt you but why 2 lbs. per week? If you feel the need to binge then you probably need to re-evaluate the amount of calories that you eat on average. If having more food to eat is important to you then try reducing your weekly weight loss rate to 1 or 1.5 lbs. per week. Another option is to eat at your maintenance calories level once in a while.

Binge is probably the wrong word. To me binge means severely overeating, which i don't think is ever a good idea.

If you have your MFP goal set to 2 pounds a week, then it is giving you a deficit of 1000 calories a day. So it tells you that you must eat 1500 calories to lose 2 pounds a week. That also means that if you eat 1500+1000=2500 calories, then you will be at your maintenance level.

If you eat at mainenance every day you will not lose any weight. If you eat there occasionally, you will slow your weightloss down, but you will still lose weight.

Thanks for your answers. Branstin, 2lbs p/w because i am really overweight at 17st 10lbs so i really need to drop some weight. I thought 2lbs p/w was the way to go.

You do what works best for you but I will leave this information for you:

As a rule of thumb, the following weekly targets would give a balance between minimizing negative side effects and seeing a reasonable weekly weight loss:

    More than 75 lbs. 2 lbs./week
    40-75 lbs. 1.5 lbs./week
    10-40 lbs. 1 lb./week
    Less than 10 lbs. 0.5 lb./week
