Running vs. Walking

About a month ago I got a fitbit so I started walking a lot more. Simultaneously, I also got sick of running and haven't done much, maybe once or twice. My previous routine was 3xwk running ~30min, 2xwk bootcamp/TRX training. My new routine is 1xwk bootcamp (maybe 2x on a good week) and walking probably about 4-5 days a week getting to my 10k step goal. Somehow I started losing faster. There has been no significant change in my eating. Any theories? I mean, I'm happy, but just curious because it feels like there is so much less intensity in my physical activity now...

There may be less intensity to your work outs but how long are you walking for? I'm guessing you're walking for longer, possibly because like you say you enjoy it more. Additionally, is your calorie intake the same or different? This would have an effect too.

There could be a number of reasons why you are loosing more now, in the end its interesting to think about why that may be but probably more importantly you have found something which works for you, you enjoy and is therefore likely more sustainable. Awesome! :-)

Yeah, I think since it is less strenuous, I am doing it more often. I am usually really dorky with stats and stuff, but I can't figure out a way to numerically compare month to month. I looked at the bar graph in reports, and it appears that I am possibly netting a little lower, but it's not incredibly significant. Of course, if there is a way to get the #s, it would be more clear...
