I've logged and tracked and measured for 36 days straight. I need to loose at least 140lbs so far I'm 11lbs down it was 13 but weigh in Monday and today and I'm 2lbs up and I've no idea why. I stay under my 1880 calorie goal but did go over Saturday night by 300. I though starting out at 346lbs I would loose the first stone pretty quickly but it's so slow. I know slow is better it's more likely to stay off but it feels like I'm going backwards. I also know this is not just a diet but a lifetime change I'm just so fed up of trying so hard and avoiding over eating hopeful every morning when I weigh to be rewarded now only to be 2lbs heavier. The only thing I struggle with is drinking water I average 1.5 litres a day could this be the issue? Could tiredness also play a part? My little one has me up from 4.30 each morning I go to sleep around 9.30 but come mid afternoon I'm so tiered. I don't do any exercise other than a half hour stroll once a week but I wanted to get a few stone off before I started on the exercise but the rate I'm going it will be a long time before I get a few stone off.
I just feel like crying and saying sod it but at the same time if I give up now I certainly won't get anywhere!

Firstly I would like to say don't be so hard on yourself. There have been days I weigh myself when I get off work in the a.m and then weigh myself later that day and there has been a pound or so increase or decrease. Also good job on the weight you have lost so far, that’s what you need to focus on is the positives on days. I work overnight from 9.30pm-7-30pm then go home to a 3 and 1 year old so getting sleep is hard but you can work your way around it. If you don’t feel you exercise how you want to, you can walk around the house or do little things that can keep you a little more active. Is a process and we all have a goal we are working towards. Feel free to add me, I would love to motivate and be motivated myself. We can help each other out.
I started off at 222.8lbs 1st July, I am now down 7lbs, just don’t give up and push through because you CAN and WILL do it!0 -
Weight loss is not linear. There are daily fluctuations. Some main culprits are TOM and more sodium one day compared to others. The overall trend is what will matter. Be patient with the process, and be kind to yourself. :flowerforyou:
ETA: Take measurements and pictures. These will help you along the way, particularly when the scale is being a PITA. Here's a link with a ton of great information:

Stick with it and that 2lb will come right back off again. I had a weekend of BBQs a couple of weeks ago. I thought I'd been really good but I ended up putting on 5lb. I was ready to pack it all in and reach for the chocolate cake. But, by the end of the week I'd lost all those 5lb and even managed to lose a further 1lb.
I understand and share your frustration. Sometimes MFP is BORING! Sometimes I get so sick of piling up the veg and having tiny portions of things that I would rather stuff my face with. Today is one of those days and I'm going to have to work hard to get through it.
Do try and get some exercise every day. Even a 15 minute walk will clear your head and get the blood pumping. I have found that my weight loss is slower if I don't do my 30min walk round the block every day.
Lots of love xx0 -
Seriously. You need to get more sleep. Do it for your overall health your child, your mood.
Work it out so that you can sleep during the day. When the little one goes down for a nap, stop whatever you are doing and lie down also.
Ask for help from family, neighbors, and paid help re house keeping.
You probably have enough water. Maybe increase to 1.8 liters.0 -
You don't have to exercise to loose weight - you just need to have a calorie deficit (eat less calories than you burn). A weekly deficit of 3500 cals will usually give you a loss of 1lb.
I have tracked religiously for months now & have not had any really bad weeks, but I can see a pattern forming - weight loss is not always consistent. Personally I tend to loose 5lb (over 2-3 weeks) and then I stay the same for 2-3 weeks despite having an adequate deficit to loose every week.
The only strong correlation I see is the amount of water I consume. If my water level is low - I probably wont loose that week. Ideally I am for 12-14 cups per day. Being properly hydrated also stops me snacking - its easy to confuse hunger with thirst.
Don't be too tough on yourself. Your weight loss in going in the right direction, just stick with it.0 -
Thank you lovely people as always. I'm going to have a treat tonight pizza but it will only take me 20 calories over for the day so I'm fine with that. I just need to concentrate on how much better I do feel. I work 3 days a week so the other 2 days I will definitely sleep when little man sleeps. We are going to walk to town and back tomorrow so that will be a good hour and half walking maybe the scales on Thursday morning will reward me for that effort!0
