It does seem to be tough. I have found that I have to shake things up a bit. The same weight loss formula that has gotten me to this point seems agonizingly sluggish.

I throw in a little extra work, eat a little leaner, just add things to the mix. When I hit a plateau I find if I redouble my efforts I can usually break that plateau. Complacency has been a killer for me.

the body adapts to the same routine after a 4 - 5 week system. so if you're working out the say way on the same day of every week eating the same things at the same time every day, after 4 - 5 weeks the body just adapts to it and your metabolism and progress will slow down or halt completely.

Change the workout days, say if your doing them monday now do them friday, and you want to change the diet, and make sure that you're not eating the same things over that 5 week span. :)

And it doesn't get boring that way.
  • +1 on mixing things up. Your body is an amazing adaptive machine and it will not change unless it has to. So, key to having success is to be able to force your body to keep adapting. As already mentioned, you have to alter your exercise routines as well as the diet. Mix up the exercises, change up the order, change the number of sets per exercise, increase or decrease the number of reps, etc. You'll drop the weight if your body thinks it doesn't need it or uses it up during its adaptive cycle.
