Ok so I have lost 19lbs total since I started my Journey 20 days ago. I know it seems like alot but its not considering I never excercised and I drank a case of soda a day.... I am down a size and up to 4 miles a day and 2 pilates class a week. My question is I lost 17lbs in 10 days then only 2.5 in the next 10 days is any of this normal?

yes... your body is adjusting ... Healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week. But if you have more to loose you may loose more a week. Remember your body is going WHAT?
  • yes I have like 117 to loose

When I was drinking a couple sodas a day every day, I could lose 10 pounds in a week just from quitting soda. And that's when I only weighed about 145. So simple dietary changes like that can cause a rapid weight loss, mostly because the body was retaining a lot of water from a lack of plain water consumption and from not having those toxins and artificial ingredients.

A loss of 1-2 pounds a week is normal and healthy.

Your body is going thru it's adjustment stage: you quit drinking soda which is very high empty calories & sodium, so that is an almost immediate loss (mostly water weight at first - you wrists & ankles probably started to look less bloated) and you started exercising, burning some of what you're taking in. Your body at first was excited, and is now starting to balance. 1-2lbs a week is very healthy, especially if you're working out: you want to build up some muscle, but more importantly you want to burn fat and especially burn the stored fat.
For what you want to lose, you may want to up your cardio and use lite weights to start: it will be slow going, but use a tape measure once a week and log it: you're more likely to notice the difference there than the scale (the scale lies!). I wish I had of been using a tape measure instead of a scale since I realized I've lost almost 2 inches to my thigh in 2 months, even tho the scale hasn't changed that much!
Good Luck on your Journey & know that many of us have been there & are still traveling the road to get to where we want :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • Thank you very much. Yes starting December 1st I am going to start Jillian Michaels 30 day shred with my 2 daughters. I did slip into a pair of jeans that I couldnt wear before so I am not discouraged. I just want to do this as a healthy lifestyle makeover not just a loose weight quick. I was going to start measuring when I started my shred Thanks for the advice!

Sounds like you're doing a great job, mixing things up and including your family to keep yourself motivated. You're doing a wonderful job and I find it to be very inspiring.:-)

The last 10 are a bi-atch! I'm on my last 10 & I swear it will take me till this time next year to drop them   But I know I can do this: I just have to keep going the way I have been, and not stress over it. The less body fat percentage, the harder it is to lose the fat. The main thing is, I'm still building & toning muscles... He he, I have a bicep not a mosquito bite
