5 months to success lost in 2 months of sabotage

Emotional Eating:
I joined MFP in January of this yet. By the end of May I lost 9 lbs. 
Then I found out my husband has kidney cancer 
In 2 months of no logging and knowing good and well I was going over my daily calories I gained back 8 lbs.
Then I realized I neither help nor hurt my husband by gaining weight.
Another emotional downfall is my best friend has not spoken to me since 7/9 after a dumb fight we had. She texts to see how we are but no calls or hanging out. I asked her today why she doesn’t call and she said her phone isn’t working. Her phone has to work, she has a job that uses it, a kid that needs to reach her and a long distance relationship that depends on it.
I want to feed my feelings and drown my sorrows but I did that for 2 months already. Now I have to try and get back to my new lifestyle of calorie counting.
