Calories burned + Calories ate

Ok I figure I am having a hard time finding out how much to eat. I see so much different info from so many diffferent sources on dieting.
What would be the healthiest way possible for me to lose weight.
I am 5"8, 162 pound male, and I burn 800-1000 calories everyday consistantly through excercise.
How many calories should I eat a day? To lose 1 pound or 2 pounds per week.
Because it seems to me the numbers I am getting are always changing. Some people even say I should be eating less then 1500 calories a day which to me seems unhealthy. How is one able to even go through daily activities with such little calories?

How do you know for sure that is what you are burning through exercise? Are you positive those numbers are accurate? The only way to know for sure is if you are using a heart rate monitor. Cardio machine burn numbers are always vastly inflated, so I would stay away from using that data.0
