hello my fitness friends,

Well tonight was a very hard night, l felt like l wanted to eat junk food or something, l ate great all day today and l have lost 6 lbs so far and l am so proud of myself and want to stay on track, but omg, tonight l seen my daughters skittles on the counter and wanted to eat them, then l am thinking, l dont want to waste my calories on those, so l start looking around the kitchen, and in my head is this:

l want chocolate, candy junk food, NO I HAVE WORKED TO HARD, if l eat something l wont stop, l knew l was in the mood.

OMG l felt so over whelmed, l didnt want to reck my goal. So l see this little square chocolate no sugar added, now l am obsessed over this chocolate, but in my head, l am thinking l dont want to think about it so much that l eat everything. So l eat it, then l go sit on the couch. NOW I WANT MORE, so l come on here and log the chocolate in my foods, 70 calories, wow for such a small piece.

At this point l want more chocolate, but l am fighting it. I just want to eat the chocolate and then get over it, dont think about it no more.

But guess what, it is almost time for bed and l won, not my mind lol

Hope l keep this up, l know l have to treat myself here and there, l just have to learn to control it with out being obsessed about it.

Anyone else go through the same thing. And if you do how do you control it everytime, l did great tonght!

Keep some carrot sticks, celery sticks or some other fresh veggies in the refrigerator. When the chocolate craze hits you, get a medium sized apple and eat it. What you're craving is "something to munch on". Are you drinking your 64 ozs. (8 eight ounce glasses) of water daily? Eliminate the diet sodas, they make you retain body water and don't flush your kidneys well (they're tough on kidneys). Save a few calories for a before-bed snack but keep them "legal".

I hear you! I have the same problem! That is why I cannot diet and that is why I have my calories set to lose only 1/2 a pound a week. Occasionally, if I feel like it I go lower for a fewer days, but that is rare. Thank goodness for exercise so that I can work my cravings in from time to time.
  • I hate that "Snacking" feeling. It's my downfall! Congrats on winning that battle! Now you know for next time that you can handle it, and control the urge! :) Keep up the good work.

I've heard that if you have a craving, to brush your teeth. Everything tastes like crap after brushing your teeth! Lol. Or keep low cal mints on hands (something more substantial than tic tacs, Lol.) to snack on, and slowly let them dissolve in your mouth. The little bit of sugar usually kills a candy craving, and again, my mouth tastes minty, so everything else will taste awful.
  • Thank you all for your support and tips, Just love that l can come on here and express my feeling and work through them.

Chocolate is addictive, as is sugar - unfortunately.

I get my sweet in my coffee. LOL Denial only works for so long. But I'm far less disciplined that you've described and therefore a HUGE kudos is due! BUT - do permit an occasional indulgence and if it's chocolate you must have, go out and find some high quality dark chocolate; not milk. It actually has some great health benefits that very much counter the drawbacks of the calories!

    Good luck!!!

You got that right, junk food and sweets are very addictive, and l am learning how to treat myself once and a while without over dueing it, l have tried dark chocolate and unfortunately l do not like it. I know the benifits to it, and l believe in eating healthy but l choose healthy foods that l like, that way l know l will stick to it. I want to thank you for your support (all of you) again it is so nice to come on here and express my feelings, and get the support l need.

    good luck to you all:happy:
