I am in the third phase of Body Beast and love it. You will eat enough calories over the first nine weeks to slowly pack on pounds, usually 1-2 pounds per week. The first three weeks basically get you used to the workout routines, then the next six weeks are focused more toward single muscle groups per workout. I put on 10-lbs over these first two phases, but my body fat remained with 1%.
The third phase continues the workouts with extra cardio added and a dramatic calorie cut. This should result in losing 1-2 lbs per week. This phase is supposed to last three weeks, but I plan to keep doing it until my body fat drops another 4%.
Whether or not you should begin this program depends on how much body fat you currently have and how close to the max you are according to Army standards. If you don't have much fat or have plenty of room according to the regs, I would say start Body Beast.0
