Replacing 2 meals with protein shakes

So my question is. Of I replace 2 meals a day with protein shakes will it help me lose weight. I have a really bad eating habit. 2 if my 3 meals a day are fast food plus all fatty snacks throughout the day. I'm never home to actually have a sit down meal except for dinner. So my question is of I replace those 2 fart food meals with a shake and some fruit, will it help me lose weight? We'll that plus my exercising?

Answer this for yourself. Does this help you hit your calorie and macro goals for the day? If yes, do it. If not, don't.

I couldn't help but giggle at the typo - 'fart' food.

Personally I don't agree with replacing 2 meals with a shake. Calories aside, your body needs to get some minerals and vitamins from REAL food. Food that you can look at and actually know what it is that you're looking at, ie wholegrains, meat, vegetables, fruit etc.

Trader Joe's has pre-packaged salads with chicken in them for about $4 each (which may vary depending on the region). I think a packaged salad would be a better choice than a shake.

Instead of fast food, have you considered buying lunch in the deli of a grocery store? You'd have healthier choices available to you than in a fast food restaurant.

If, and only if, those two shakes also have appropriate vitamins and minerals, it could be viable assuming you're getting enough calories throughout the day -- HOWEVER, the chances of you feeling sated by just drinking two of your meals is pretty low unless you have decent, filling snacks. Since you mentioned you have fatty snacks throughout the day, I'm assuming you mean bad fatty rather than good fatty (nuts, avocado, etc) so if you wanted to replace your fast food meals with protein shakes, maybe also substitute fatty snacks with apples, nuts, carrots, etc etc etc. Those are all pretty easy to pack and take with.

I'm personally not the biggest fan of replacing meals with a beverage because I personally don't feel full or satisfied if I'm drinking calories, but that's just how I personally work so if it works for you then that's great. I just see protein shakes as supplemental rather than replacement.

Sounds like herbalife. Maybe that is not such a good idea.

If you can pack shakes to eat during the day, why not real food instead? If time is an issue in the morning, set up overnight oats the night before and pack your lunch so it's all ready to go. Hard boiled eggs, toast and peanut butter, even a homemade "egg mcmuffin" - all easy grab & go breakfasts. If you don't have time to whip up a piece of toast and slap some peanut butter on it, get up ten minutes earlier - it's worth it!

Pack healthy and satisfying lunches and snacks - raw almonds, sandwiches, fresh fruit, cheese sticks, yogurt, baby carrots....if you have access to a microwave, take dinner leftovers.

Personally, I'd rather have real food than a meal replacement shake. Eating and chewing is more satisfying, and regular food that you prepared yourself will be better for you. And you want to learn the healthy habits of eating your meals rather than drinking them - temporary changes will get you temporary results.

Or you could replace two fast food meals with two real food meals. I'm going to take a guess and say....troll.
