New Diet.. Should I wait to add weight training in?

I am about eight days in to eating healthy for really the first time in my life. I changed my diet because I was nearly devoid of energy, and probably had all but stalled my metabolism. I was going to go back into the gym, but i still feel like I'm "readjusting" to this diet. My energy level is certainly up, but not sure if I'm at 100% just yet.

Certainly seeing progress already, 2 pounds in a week!

Currently on a 1760 cal diet (although i usually end up there or right around 1900). Looking to go from 185 to 160 before clean bulking back up to say 165-170ish, which i've had a few people tell me I'd probably be best at for where I'm aiming at. 5'11 by the way if that helps

Looking for recommendations on how i should get back into the gym.

You can gradually get back into weight training at any time really as long as you don't have issues with getting lightheaded or anything like that. Progressing to heavier weights or more sets or what have you shouldn't be a problem. Don't go all out obviously, slowly build up over time.

And remember weight lifting is a skill not just an exercise, you can work on perfecting your form with light weights as it will teach good habits and reduce the chance for injury.

Just kidding I missed the word wait. You absolutely should not wait. I'd recommend doing strength before starting cardio. Look up some beginner workouts to do while you cut. That way you'll maintain the muscle you have. Once you reach your gol it will be easier to o a 6 month (or whatever you decide) bulk because you'll already have made some strength gains.

questions in life are always answered with

    SQUAT MORE

outside of injury and need for real rest/repair- you should never wait to start lifting.

Okay, with the waiting, i'm just thinking what derek said. Once in awhile i'm still getting light headed, but i really think thats more me watching my calories, carbs, etc, whereas before i was just eating anything. I was thinking of starting with light cardio for a week with some light lifting just to get back into it. just don't want to overdo it
