C25k on a calorie deficit

I am on week three of c25k. As those who have done c25k know, this is the turning point when the runs begin to lengthen considerably. What I am wondering is...is it ok to do a progressive program like this during a calorie deficit? I have a deficit of about 500-1000cal depending on how much exercise I get for that day. Would catabolism interfere with this and possibly trigger muscle loss?

    I completed c25k while in a calorie deficit with no problems. Not a huge one, but a deficit all the same. And don't let the coming weeks of the program scare ya - some of the sessions appear daunting, but go for it and stick to the program - you'll be amazed at what you can do, and the feeling of accomplishment for having done it is awesome! :smile:

    Yay. I was just starting to experience a runner's high for the first time. I'm glad I can continue.
