TDEE

Hi, I would love some confirmation about TDEE......I started out (again!) at 246lbs 3 weeks ago, I actually started going to Slimming World and found the diet very simple and, so far, effective. My problem is looking into the future SW doesn't help with portion control etc. So I started to log on MFP as well. I have lost 17lbs in three weeks, which is crazy, but I have been eating a lot of food.

But to the topic, I know that losing 4lbs a week isn't sustainable, and I am planning to up my exercise considerably. I joined a gym yesterday and have been walking my 10000 steps daily for the last 2 weeks.

I used a TDEE calculator online which set my BMR at 1684 and TDEE at 2462. This is set at 5 exercise sessions per week, which I will probably exceed. Now to lose weight I need to eat under my TDEE, so if I aim for 1900 calories a day I should be good, right?

If, in addition to the current exercise plan, I started T25 (not until I've lost a bit of weight or my knees won't forgive me), should I eat more?

1900 calories seems like a good amount, and I think would be a maintenance figure for me when I get to my goal weight of 149lbs.

Thank you!

walking, gym and T25 seems like a bit of overkill? i would suggest you find a routine that you will be able to stick to, and dont try doing too much too soon or you risk injury and burnout.

1900-2000 cals sounds about right, try it for 4-6 weeks and then tweak up or down based on yuor results.
